The Democratic Party of Aristocrats

I have come to the conclusion that Washington is about money.  The Democratic Party is the party of the new Aristocracy.  The filthy rich like Corzine who can, for 34 million dollars ,buy the Govenors office in New Jersey  Corzine would not be a democrat if the party required more than money and phoney sentiment.  Add the filty rich press and hollywood and as you can see its all about the money.  Deliver the votes and make money!  Buy a seat in congress and hob nob with the other elitists.  Let the socialists footmen do the dirty work!  There it is.  The new order of the rich.  It isn't palaces its power!

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage Plans is an attempt to privatize the health care for seniors.  What Medicare pays is the PREMIUM NOT THE MEDICAL COSTS.   It is criminal to tell seniors they can keep thier doctors and then withdraw the amounts the government pays to help seniors afford this coverage   Seniors pay the same as they do for medicare and the government kicks in about $300.00 a month.  The expense of care is on the provider.  One example is Wellpoint and this group provides more services than traditional medicaredoes    PLUS THE SENIOR DOES NOT HAVE TO BUY A MEDICARE SUPLIMENT POLICY.     These policies cost about $1800.00 to $2400.00 a year whether the senior is sick or not.  With the advantage plans the senior pays a co-pay which range from 20.00 up but if they are well they pay nothing.  Big difference here.  The lie is that it will go away with the cuts as planned if they are passed.
A big marketer of these plans is AARP who now advertises this as an insurance subsity and is back on TV hawking thier medicare subsity plan.  They are in collusion with O'bama and pushing his plan.  LIBERALS!
Once the liberal elete have enough of this country under thier control people will be too afraid not to vote them back in office time and time again.   Make them tell the truth.  Cut the spin and speak out with facts people can trust.

AARP Townhall on the Telephone

September 8th 2009
AARP hosts a telephone townhall calling members and entering them in a conference call.  I was contacted at 7pm.  I wish I had pen and paper because I do not have the moderators name.  He is head of AARP in Missouri.  His guest is an AARP staffer.  I enter in the middle of a discussion and try to catch up.  The staffer quotes the results of a poll "56% say that medicare payments impact thier income 42% say they do not"  We the stupid audience is supposed to be impressed with the results of such an empty question.  Every variance in life affects my income in some way.  Hot days raise my cooling bill etc. etc.
The host now takes a question from a women I think lived in Sykston.  She asked if national health care would lead to rationing.  The staffer tells her to look at the Massachusetts Health Care program.  By offering everyone health care emergency rooms have less wait time.  Clearly this staffer spun an answer because she did not think the caller knew what health care rationing was.  It is not the wait time in any emergency room.  The hosts gives kudos to his guests for her great answers.  She did not mention the Massachusetts program is near bankrupt.
The next caller asked about retird military benefits and here they lost me in ramble and I disconnected.  Anything so biased as this group call was is just an example of AARP really being on board and working toward the O'bama health plan. Its discusting that the AARP can no longer be trusted to be my advocate.  We need to do something about our organization being highjacked by the staff who have thier own agenda.

President Obama Misspeaks

It may have been an over simplification but I don't believe so.  I believe the President meant to spin and it was  about as close to a lie as you can get.  He said" we spend a 177 Billion dollars subsidizing health insurance companies through the Medicare Advantage Plan and that this could be a savings"    This is not true.  I am a senior citizen and here is my understanding of Medicare Advantage Plans.

A SENIOR WOULD OPT OUT OF TRADITIONAL MEDICARE.  THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION TAKES THE $96.00 MEDICARE PREMIUM ADS $347.00 OF OUR TAX DOLLARS AND ENROLLS THE SENIOR IN A LOCAL MEDICAL GROUP FOR THIER CARE.  SUCH AS BARNES - JEWISH IN SAINT LOUIS.  HIS EXAMPLE OF A MEDICAL PROCEDURE COSTING MEDICARE AND THE ADVANTAGE PLAN IS WRONG.  THE SENIOR HAS OPTED OUT OF MEDICARE.  IF THIER EXPENSES ARE $15,000.00 FOR A PROCEDURE MEDICARE PAYS ZERO.  ALL OF THE COST IS BORNE BY THE ADVANTAGE PLAN.  IT IS A COSTS SAVINGS  NOT AN INSURANCE GIVE AWAY.  HE IS IGNORANT OF THE FACTS.

Also unmentioned is that the federal income tax collected when social security becomes taxable on your federal return, is allocated to medicare expenses such as the enrollment costs above.   This government has done a poor job of educating the public about
Advantage Plans and the President counted on that fact when he spun his words

This will make you cringe

Wednesday August 5th the Fox Radio Channel ran an ad for US Loan Assistance Center USLAC.  This is a quote"President Obama has passed legislation to assist home buyers"  Contact them and they will help you obtain a low rate mortgage.  You can even have a bad credit rating and/or no equity in your home.  You can buy a home with bad credit.  I suppose it was aimed at people who think the President does make all the laws.  It truely is an insult to the taxpayers who are paying to bail out these mortgages.

The size of the Medicare premium

At this time all Social Security reciepients 65 and over are automatically enrolled in Medicare.  The cost is $96.00 per month and it is an automatic deduction.  In 2011 the first of the 78 million baby boomers will begin to go onto the Medicare rolls.  Thats is a huge number for an already over burdened government program.
Originally this plan was to save low income seniors from financial ruin due to medical expenses.  It was billed as a humane program.  It was never means tested. i.e. enrollment according to need or income.  In my tax practice I immediately saw many financially secure seniors recognize a good buy and drop thier insurance to join Medicare.  If O'bama gets his way this will happen to all health insurance and we will have a single payer system.  Just like Canada.
I doubt we can ever shrink Medicare back to its intended purpose but we can charge more.  We can means test it.  Why should one payment fit all?  That was to insure more participation in order to meet the program needs and now that program is faced with the millions of boomers comming aboard and congress is rushing to cover up its own fiasco. Raise the Premiums on Medicare so that only users are affected.  Millions can afford more than $96.00 a month and should pay more!  We should pay more as we age.  We spend less on cars and homes and travel as we get older and healthcare is important to us so we should pay more.  Theres nothing wrong with paying your own way.

AARP

Once I was a contented member of AARP. (the American Association of Retired People) I have used several services and never thought AARP would be a big item on my agenda.  It really started with President Bush's plan to carve out self directed accounts from  Social Security funds.  All of a sudden AARP was all over television with ads attacking his plan.  AARP was spending millions to defeat a plan that did not affect a single member nor anyone who would become a member for 25 plus years.  I don't believe anyone over thirty was affected by his proposal.
Now AARP endorses the O'bama medical make over!  Clearly this plan is dedramental to seniors.  This plan strips funds from medicare so that it can not survive and seniors are forced into the "new" plan that has what medicare does not, the right to deny an individual medical treatment .  Something medicare can not do. I don't know  why AARP has chosen to become so political.  Thier role is to be a senior advocacy group.  AARP is supposed to serve seniors not politicians.
I think its time they got some competition.  Some smart person out there should realize that 78 million baby boomers is a huge pool of potential members and give AARP some competition.
